“Zigeunerleben” performed by Belle a Cappella
The choir’s crisp German diction and emotive performance of Schumann’s “Zigeunerleben” won them the category award.
Awards for Best New Zealand piece and Best Own Choice categories went to Bella Voce of Marlborough Girls’ College, also Highly Commended choir at the festival.

Three adjudicators travel throughout New Zealand in the coming weeks, assessing over 200 choirs. They then meet and decide on 18 choirs to invite to the National Finale in Wellington in August, plus a number of Guest Choirs.
