Congratulations to the following auditionees who are called back for a group audition on Tuesday 10 November at 12.25 in M1.

You all need to learn a new piece which you can pick up from Mrs. Sullivan or DOWNLOAD below:

You can also LISTEN to the piece

*Ladies– learn BOTH soprano and alto lines please

You must arrive knowing this piece as we will immediately split into groups and begin singing. (Warming up at interval is also a good idea.)

Everyone who auditioned needs to see Mrs. Sullivan for their feedback sheet (whether called back or not) and all who are welcome to join Camerata choir next year.

Girls, lets definatly congregate in studios (or M1 if free??) monday lunch, it would really help everyone get more used to the song and singing it together – speshly the alto line. Be there or be square (or unprepared!) =)

I found this video of the piece. The choir doesn’t start until 3:36 because the soprano sings solo for the first part. There are lots of videos of the soprano solo with accompaniment on youtube as well.

Do we need to learn all three verses or do we just need to know the first set of words?

If you are having trouble deciphering that music you need to learn please ask for help!

It is meant to be a challenge for you to learn it properly very quickly, but don’t feel as if you need to do it all on your own. Part of being a member of Bella is knowing when you need to ask your peers/ potential other choir members for help.

And perhaps some could even offer to help others (a Monday lunchtime?)– this is the kinda thing Bella members do for each other.

Also, maybe someone will find a good practice YouTube and post it here to help others.

The point of Tuesday is to see how everyone does singing in a choir– we have heard you sing solo (so you’ve made it over the first hurdle) but Bella members need to sing (and blend) within their sections and the group.

It is important to note that we are looking for the next Bella sound– so even wonderfully skilled singers may not get in. It all depends on the blend.

Got that? There are 26 people on the list, but there is very little chance Bella 2010 will be 26.
